Kris Anderson set up Greener Cleaner 12 years ago, providing laundry and dry cleaning services to homes and businesses with free collection of clothing donations. As Sydney’s leader in quality dry cleaning of fine garments and household textiles, Greener Cleaner is proud of Kris’ commitment to the community with the unique charity work “Rags to Riches”. The Rags to Riches charitable side of Kris’ business has been running for the last three years and has been able to recycle more than 10,000kg of clothing for the homeless and needy. Greener Cleaner’s Rags to Riches has adopted two charities: the St. Vincent de Paul and a homeless charity the Exodus Foundation.
“All of our home delivery dry cleaning customers know about the scheme and when they have some clothing to donate, they let Greener Cleaner know. They nominate their charity of choice and the donation is collected with their next dry cleaning pick-up.” Said Kris Anderson CEO of Greener Cleaner.
Another FREE community service Greener Cleaner offers to anyone is Cleaning of Interview Clothes for the Jobless. Greener Cleaner would like to help and encourage anyone who has been out of work and going for an interview to come into Greener Cleaner and get their interview clothes cleaned for FREE, no questions asked.
Greener Cleaner’s Commitment to Giving Back
But our commitment as your community dry cleaner doesn’t stop there. For many years, we’ve been making a difference in the lives of the homeless and the disadvantaged by;
- Cleaning the clothes donated before first leaving the dry cleaning shop.
- Directly donating cleaned collected garments and blankets to people in need who live in the Willoughby & North Sydney area.
- Delivering cleaned used clothing to charities to be resold in their retail stores.
- Act as a collection point for community donations of garments and household textiles and forwarded to the charities at a later date.
- Make direct monetary contributions to around 20 schools every year by way of Fundraising Gift Vouchers.
